Meet Rosario

Hello! I’m Rosario Picardo – a 29 year old in the city of Lexington. I am the Lead Pastor of Embrace Church, a brand new, diverse, exciting community of faith that just launched on September 13, 2009!  Before I put on my SuperSuit and go live out my call in the city, I fix my roommates and I about a dozen egg whites along with a hardy bowl of oatmeal.  This blog is all about the tight rope that I walk between Embrace & Egg Whites.  Feel free to contact me directly by email anytime roz@embraceyourcity.com.

The Bio I Wish I Had

Roz is an amazingly handsome stud.  Usually the smartest person in the room, he could beat up most men very easily. Roz recently turned down a 6-figure contract with the UFC because he did not want to embarrass the other fighters. Here’s a secret…most people write their own bio, but just write it in third-person like someone else is the author.  No need in me frontin’…I’m writing my own bio like everyone else – except my friends would not allow me to tell you the truth (which now has a big line through it above . For real though, here’s my real (third-person) bio:

The Bio I Really Have

Roz is a very regular dude.  Sometimes he says and does very dumb things and other times he has absolute near strokes of genius.   Moving to Lexington, Kentucky and starting  Embrace Church are the best things he has ever done.   He’s not a perfect son, brother, or pastor, but gives these things his very best shot every single day.

Roz has gotten his car stolen and sold for twenty dollars, his tires slashed, his house vandalized and his life threatened for carrying out his call.

Rosario grew up in Western, New York and is first generation Sicilian-American. In 2003, Rosario earned a B.A. in Religion from Houghton College. In 2007, Rosario earned  an MDiv from Asbury Theological Seminary. Rosario spent 4 years in the United States Marine Reserves and 5 years in the United States Navy Reserves. Rosario received and honorable discharge in 2009. Rosario is experienced in urban ministry while attending the Rock/La Roca UMC as a member, custodian, and associate pastor for over 4 years. Upon graduation from ATS Rosario was appointed by the Kentucky Annual as a church planter and became a Commissioned Elder in the Kentucky Annual Conference 2009

I have made a lot of mistakes in life, but launching & leading Embrace Church is not one of them!  We are a brand new, exciting, diverse community of faith right in the heart of downtown Lexington.  The best way for you to learn more about us is to check us out @ embraceyourcity.com but let me tell you a few quick tidbits about us!

  • We are brand new!  We just had our Grand Opening on September 13th, 2009.
  • We are a city church.  I live in the city and our church is smack in the middle of downtown Lexington.  Get directions & details about when and where we meet here.
