church=diverse family

At Embrace we all have biological families, which we love and value.  However, we recognize that when we give our lives to Jesus we are born again into a new family, the Family of God.  In Matthew 12:50 Jesus said, "For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother."  As family, we are deeply committed to each other at Embrace.  We may be dysfunctional at times, but we love each other.  As family, we stick together, even when we disagree, make mistakes, and come from different places.  Our family is inclusive, always welcoming newcomers as Jesus did.  We cherish the diversity of our family knowing that the Gospel tears down walls and hierarchies of separation, oppression, and inequity.
