Backyard Party

Our Friday night dinners have continued to expand in the people we are reaching out to. A few weeks ago we saw this again. The types of responses we are getting to invitations encouraged the team and me. I thought by this point we would have had moved our dinners to Woodland Park but we are continuing to cookout at my house. A few Fridays ago we were in the backyard and after we prayed I invited our neighborhoods, Darren, Lauren, and their son Denali. We were excited when they actually came over to hang out with us. They stayed for a few hours and we talked about “community” and all the advantages to it. I must admit I was learning from her concept of community. She knows I am planting a church and later admitted that “typical Christians” freak her out. I believe Darren and Lauren felt comfortable hanging out and will be back to join us. I felt like I was in one of the parables Jesus taught about sending out invitations to the dinner party and inviting all that were able to come. Not all will respond, but when people actually do then we should rejoice.
